Isolation of selected components

When necessary, we are able to isolate the requested compound at a higher amount. Of course, the better the separation method is, the higher the isolation yields are.

An isolation of a compound can be useful when you deal with a substance that is hard to be prepared synthetically. Or, when the structure is still unknown, it is handy to have a pure sample of the impurity for other structure elucidation techniques like NMR.

For these purposes, we use either a classical low-pressure column chromatography or HPLC on our automated semi-preparative modular HPLC system (Waters). With the help of these techniques we are able to isolate tenths to hundreds of milligrams of substances, depending on the concentration of the component in the mixture and quality of a chromatographic separation.
